Career Paths

Students studying Fashion at Palomar College may proceed to various levels of employment and learning. Many students currently employed in the fashion industry enroll in specific classes to upgrade their knowledge and skills as new technology demands.

Entry Level

girl cutting pattern Certificates (19-24 units): Certificates are granted to students completing core courses, along with advanced required courses within the Fashion Merchandising and/or the Fashion Design Programs.

Technical Level A Degree (60 units): Graduation requirements in either one of the Fashion Programs include completion of core courses, required courses chosen by Palomar College, required general education courses, and electives to equal 60 or more semester units. The AA Degree provides students with an option for a career or the requisite foundation for transfer to a four-year college or university.A

Professional Level

BA/BS or Advanced Degree: Advanced courses and other professional level work lead to the Baccalaureate or other degree and provides students with qualifications for professional employment.
