|The PACRA Board of Directors honored retiring Board member, Ken Burns at a luncheon meeting on Oct. 17 at the Olive Garden restuarant in Escondido. Dr. Burns has served as the Board president for the past 4 years and is moving to Arizona to be near his daughter. In addition, the Board welcomed 3 new members: Judy Cater, JoAnne Lesser and Tom Humphrey|
Over 50 retirees attended PACRA’s twenty-second annual meeting on Thursday, May 16 at the Spaghetti Factory in San Marcos. Attendees enjoyed renewing friendships with former colleagues and were entertained by a chorus directed by former Palomar Music director, Joe Stanford. In addition, President Deegan brought the group up to date on new developments at Palomar College.
PACRA members were treated to a special showing at the new Palomar College Planetarium on Saturday, October 27. Thirty-seven members attended the one hour showing featuring the dual programs of The Sky Tonight and a full dome feature entitled The Secret Lives of Stars. Mark Lane, the Planetarium director, conducted the show.
The Palomar Board of Directors paid tribute to 3 retiring Board members at a luncheon held at the Spaghetti Factory in San Marcos on Thursday, Oct. 18. Dr. Omar Scheidt, Jean Huston and James Clayton are all retiring from the Board for health reasons. Both Omar Scheidt and Jean Huston are charter members of PACRA and have served on the Board since 1991. All 3 received an engraved plaque as a token of appreciation for their long and distinguished service to PACRA and its Board of Directors
