Blackboard Mobile Learn App Licensing
As many faculty are already aware, there is a Blackboard Mobile Learn app available for iOS and Android devices. That isn’t news, as the app has existed for a couple years now. What is news relates to a change in the way that app is licensed. Previously the app was usable only by certain devices using certain connections, in a fashion that was confusing to explain. Unless, of course, the institution you were attending actually purchased a license, in which case everything just plain worked. Using Flip Videos – Part 2

Today I would like to round out our treatment of the Flip video camera, based on a workshop we delivered last week.  I have created three final screen videos to show how to handle files on the Flip camera, how to disconnect it, how to perform a very basic edit (trim a video) and then how to Export files from the FlipShare software to your hard drive, and load and edit them in Windows Live Movie Maker.  Rather than embedding the videos, I have placed a thumbnail of their first frame here.  Clicking it will take you to the Palomar College Academic Technology web site where you will be able to play the...

The Great Haydini

Last Friday we conducted a really fun workshop on using the Flip video camera.  The workshop was also supposed to have also contained a module on using Windows Live Movie Maker to edit together several  videos, but, of course, there was not enough time to include that element in a 2-hour format.  This post will concentrate on lessons learned, and give a little advice to those who might want to use the Flip video camera for academic projects.  Tomorrow I will post the various “how-to” screen videos related to the Flip camera itself, using the FlipShare software that comes with it, and...
