Professor Gwin joined Palomar’s History Department in Fall of 2016. Prior to this, she taught at CSU Fullerton, UC Irvine, and Irvine Valley College. Her academic interests include the History of the U.S.-Mexico Border, Women’s History, and the History of California. Her research examines both the local history of women in San Diego and also the politics of gender and sexuality at the border in the early twentieth century. She teaches Palomar’s U.S. History Survey Courses (101 & 102), as well as a course in U.S. Women’s History (130). Professor Gwin also has extensive experience working with K-12 teachers, and helping them integrate disciplinary content and skills in the secondary school classroom.
