I came to the Center in 1995 as a student studying child development. I quickly fell in love with the children & families, philosophy, environment, staff and I’ve never left. I was hired as an assistant teacher straight out of the campus student teaching program in 1997 and have worked to my current position of Site Supervisor. I have split my years between our two sites here in San Marcos and in Escondido. In the past I’ve worked primarily with the older 3’s, 4’s & 5yr olds in our State Preschool programs.

In 2009 I returned to the San Marcos site after having my son Ethan and embarked on another new adventure. I took over the older 2’s & 3yr old group, in this age I have found my heart. I love watching as the children flourish and grow toward independence. Being witness to the swell of confidence and pride that comes with mastery of new skills is priceless. They are excited and fearless as they charge toward their future soaking up so much knowledge along the way. Sitting sideline to the transformation from toddler to preschooler is nothing short of AMAZING! I additionally enjoy guiding and reassuring parents and working with the families as they make this transition along side their child.

In my personal life, I live with my husband Danny, our son Ethan and our 2 cats in Poway. Ethan who just turned 5 is an alumni of the Child Development Center and loves to come back to visit old friends and teachers. We love spending time together going to the park, snuggling up watching movies, reading books, doing volunteer work and camping in our ancient tent trailer.
