 JOB SUMMARY Under the supervision of the Site Supervisor, the Lead Teacher will be responsible for planning, supervising and implementing educational standards in accordance with Title 5, Title 22 and agency policies and procedures of North County Community Services.

Primary job functions include maintaining pleasant open communication with all parents, assistant teachers, and children on a regular basis. Develop and implement monthly lesson plans to include the approved curriculum and meets the needs of the children according to the Desired Results Developmental Profile-Revised (DRDP-R) and the Preschool Learning Foundations. Create and maintain a learning environment that is safe, clean and healthy according to the Early Childhood Environmental Rating Scale (ECERS). Supervise the mealtime component (family style eating) according to the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). Supervise, mentor, and encourage assistant teachers in a team working environment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  Develop monthly lesson plans that meet the social, emotional, cognitive, creative and physical development of the children in accordance with the Desired Results Developmental Profile-R (DRDP-R) assessment tool. Implement the monthly lesson plan to include the approved curriculum and encompass current program goals and objectives. Utilize the Preschool Learning Foundations in developing lesson plans. Provide age appropriate activities to promote the whole child; social, emotional, physical, cognitive and creative development. Create and maintain the classroom environment (centers) according to ECERS. Complete all work associated with support contracts such as QPI (Quality Preschool Initiative)  Physically and visually supervise children indoors, outdoor and in the bathrooms to ensure appropriate teacher/child ratios at all times according to Title 5 regulations. Complete two (2) assessments annually on each child (one (1) within 60 days of enrollment) using the DRDP-R assessment tool. Conduct weekly written child observations as documentation of progress for the DRDP-R assessment tool, and two parent/teacher conferences annually or based on the needs of the parent and/or child. Collect samples of children’s work, written observations and pictures as support documentation for the DRDP-R assessment tool. Supervise and participate in the CACFP program through family style eating during breakfast, lunch, and snack.
