Production: 11/8 – 11/17; Fridays, Saturdays 7pm; Sundays 2pm; Thursday 4pm. Actors call is 2 hours prior to curtain.

In the spirit of her 2012 CD release Solo, pianist Roberta Piket unfolds a program of jazz standards by Thelonious Monk, Billy Strayhorn, Marian McPartland, Chick Corea, Wayne Shorter and Herbie Hancock, as well as improvisations on classical themes by Alexander Scriabin and Frederic Chopin. (Note: this performance will be held in the Howard Brubeck Theatre.)

Electro Acoustic Music Festival

Special guest composer/ trombonist/ improviser Michael Dessen (UC Irvine) performs on the digibone, a customized performance environment for trombone and live electronics. Michael is well known for his improvisation and innovative use of technology. Joining the festivities will be our own Ellen Weller, improvising with Michael Dessen.

Two powerful Palomar performing entities honor our theatre’s namesake, Dr. Howard Brubeck! The Palomar Symphony Orchestra presents G Flat Theme by Howard Brubeck; Nocturne by Madelyn Byrne; and, joined by the Palomar Brass Ensemble, Four Dance Episodes (from Rodeo) by Aaron Copland. The Brass Ensemble will also present additional selections from J.S. Bach and modern composers.
