David Chase, Professor Emeritus, teaches Survey of 20th Century Music and Premier Chamber Ensembles in his retirement. He is a graduate of the Ohio State University; he received his doctorate at University of Michigan.
Dr. Chase has been on the faculty of Palomar College, San Marcos, since 1974, serving variously as music department chair, conductor of choruses and conductor of the Palomar Community Orchestra, as well as teaching music literature and theory courses. He retired from full-time teaching in 2009.
Conductor of the La Jolla Symphony Chorus since 1973, he serves as a Lecturer in the U.C.S.D. Music Department. Dr. Chase and members of the chorus have toured Europe, Mexico, Canada and the Himalayan nation of Bhutan.
