Molly Faulkner is a Professor of Dance at Palomar College, and currently the Chair of Performing Arts. She received her Ph.D. in Dance from Texas Woman’s University with an emphasis in dance history and dance education. She earned a B.F.A. in Dance from the University of Arizona and an M.F.A. from the University of Iowa in Choreography. Her current research includes comedy in the ballet La Fille Mal Gardee, teaching methods in dance, and feminism in ballet. She grew up in Tucson, AZ and studied ballet with Richard France, George Zoritch, Jean Paul Comelin, Miguel Terekov, Mary Beth Cabana among many others. Her professional dance career includes Ballet Arizona, Arizona Dance Theatre, Tokyo Disneyland, Oklahoma Festival Ballet, Sesame Street Live (Grover), and several episodes of the ABC television series Young Riders. She was an Assistant Professor at the University of Northern Colorado (Greeley, CO) and has been a Guest/Master Teacher across the US and Europe including with the Cecchetti Council Southwest (Denton, TX), Ballet Arizona (Phoenix AZ), Iowa Ballet Academy, and Sodertalje Dans Skolan (Sodertalje, Sweden), and she is currently a Master Teacher and runs the Young Choreographers Workshop every Summer for Burklyn Ballet Theatre (Johnson, VT).
