Sadie Weinberg graduated Cum Laude with a B.F.A. in Dance from the Conservatory of Dance at Purchase College. She was later awarded a Fellowship from UC Irvine where she went on to receive her M.F.A. in Dance. She has danced professionally in San Diego with Jean Isaacs’ San Diego Dance Theater, Malashock Dance, Yolande Snaith Theater Dance, McCaleb Dance and many other independent choreographers. Sadie has also performed works by Doug Varone, Donald Byrd, David Parsons, William Forsyethe, Bebe Miller and other world-renowned choreographers. As a choreographer, Sadie has presented her work in numerous self-produced and collaborative concerts throughout California as well as in New York, Mexico and Canada. She has collaborated with artists such as Ceres Dance in San Francisco; MoCean Dance in Halifax, Nova Scotia; and Rebecca Walters in Dublin, Ireland. Some of her choreographic highlights include Richard Moves: Martha @ the Lyceum, the San Diego Dance Theater’s Annual Trolley Dances, White Wave Dance Festival in NY, Epiphany Theater in Plymouth, Michigan with collaborator Amanda Nora, and The Mourner’s Dance/Onen collaborative concert she presented with her mother, also a dancemaker, Betzi Roe. Sadie currently teaches dance at Mira Costa Community College, Coronado High School of the Arts, and Palomar Community College, creating new choreographies bi-annually, and is a certified Pilates Instructor. In 2007, she was the recipient of the Outstanding Associate Faculty Award at Mira Costa College. Most recently (March 2008), Sadie was selected as one of 17 choreographers to perform in the 12th annual Solo Dance Festival in Stugartt, Germany.
