Spring 2014 Audition information for Palomar Performing Arts programs, ensembles, and productions is below. Do not enroll in these classes until you have passed the audition.

Music

Applied Music Program

Students are admitted by special audition on Friday, January 17. Contact the Performing Arts Office (PAC-122), 760 744-1150, ext. 2316  for appointment.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE NEW APPLIED MUSIC STUDENTS!

You must attend the first meeting of the Performance Studies class (Mus 222) on Friday at 1:00PM. Be sure to get your permission codes for Mus 220 and Mus 222 from Kimberly Loya. Your new individual instructor will be calling you this week to set up a regular lesson time.

Theatre Arts

Cabaret

Pat Larmer, Director. Sue Gilson, Choreography. Ken Bell, Music Director.

January 15    Vocal:  Bring sheet music; accompanist will be provided (no a capella); prepare a verse and a chorus

January 16     Dance:  Dress for movement

January 17    Callbacks:  Cold readings from script

Auditions start at 7:00 PM and will be held in the Howard Brubeck Theatre on the campus of Palomar College, 1140 W. Mission Rd, San Marcos, on a first-come first-served basis.

Headshots and resumes are helpful, but not required.

Rehearsals start January 20 and will run M-F from 7:00-10:00 pm.

Performances are on March 7, 8, 9, 13, 14, 15, 16.

All cast will receive college credit.

*   Performers interested solely in the roles of Fraulein Schneider and Heir Schultz need only attend vocal auditions and (if called), the callbacks.

*   Dancers with a desire to dance only need to attend the dance auditions and be available (if called) for callbacks.

*   Actors looking for non-singing and dancing roles may audition for these parts at the end of the vocal auditions on Wednesday night and need not attend the dance auditions. Please prepare a one-minute monologue. NB these roles are supporting only.

It is to your advantage to audition for all aspects of the production; failure to do so will severely limit your chances of being cast.

Dance

All prior required “audition” dance courses no longer require auditions.

Please note: In the class schedule, DNCE 138 Cuban/Brazilian Drumming II is misprinted as requiring an audition, but there will not be an audition.
