The Psychology Department offers two excellent opportunities for students to get involved and explore their interests in psychology outside of the classroom. The Psychology Club and Psi Beta National Honor Society at Palomar run in concert and hold joint meetings on the second Friday of the month from 11:30-12:30pm. Use this Zoom link to attend). The Psychology club is open to any Palomar student with an interest in psychology, regardless of major. There are some specific academic requirements for joining Psi Beta, described below. Being active in both looks great for transfer applications and research shows that students who are active on their campuses tend to do better academically. Win! Psi Beta National Honor Society

Psi Beta is the national honor society in psychology at the Community College level.  Its four-year university counterpart is Psi Chi.  The mission of Psi Beta is to encourage professional development and psychological literacy of all students at two-year colleges through promotion and recognition of excellence in scholarship, leadership, research, and community service.  To learn more about the National Psi Beta Organization, visit the Psi Beta website

The Psychology Club and Palomar chapter of Psi Beta meetings give students an opportunity to participate in activities related to psychology and hear guest speakers from various subfields in psychology.
