The STEM program is funded by the
Title V/HSI STEM Grant from the U.S. Department of
Education, designed to assist Palomar College in
increasing the number of STEM Bachelor's degrees
awarded to low-income and underrepresented students.
The STEM grant is a collaborative effort between
Palomar College and CSU San Marcos to strengthen the
STEM Transfer Pathway by achieving the following:
- Increasing student
participation in STEM programs by providing
outreach, counseling, and guidance
- Improving student
persistence by enhancing their engagement in the
STEM learning process
- Strengthening STEM
programs, curriculum, and equipment
- Opening a STEM Center to
provide a social and academic learning environment
- Creating a seamless
transfer process between Palomar College and CSUSM
