Salk Institute Open House
Saturday April 11
April 12 marks the 60th anniversary of the discovery of the polio vaccine by Jonas Salk. Today, the Salk Institute continues to carry on his legacy by conducting innovative biological research.
Salk’s free community open-house includes guided lab tours, interactive events and scientific talks, as well as hands-on activities for children and adults.

    Dr. Kerry Key is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Geophysics and Planetary Physics at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, UC San Diego. Dr. Key is recognized for his contributions in the field of geophysics. He has been on more than 30 seagoing scientific expeditions that have led to a wide variety of new discoveries, including magmatic processes beneath a mid-ocean ridge volcano. Dr. Key also teaches courses in Earth Sciences and geophysics at UC San Diego.
