The Associated Student Government (ASG), with the leadership of Sen. Shantal Lomeli, hosted a two-day event called Comet Celebration.
The event was held at the Student Union Quad on Oct. 14 and 15.
Free bagels and free coffee were given out to those students with Student Activity Cards. In addition, several clubs on campus were present at the event such as the Nutrition Club, Palomar International Friendship Alliance and Anime Club.
ASG Advisor and Student Activities Coordinator Lindsay Kretchman and Inter Club Council Chair Shovan Vatandoust were also in attendance.
According to Lomeli, the Comet Celebration is about celebrating Palomar College.
This is the first event that Lomeli organized as an ASG Senator. Although she admitted that it is a little overwhelming for her, she still said that “I try to please people…I hope they are enjoying.”
Lomeli also said that the another goal of the event is to celebrate Palomar students.
Palomar student, Heather Bradley, said that she thought that the event was “awesome. “It’s always good that the (ASG) has this kind of events…it’s a little incentive (to students).”
