The Comets soccer team shook off their six-game losing streak with a 2-0 home win over the visiting Cuyamaca Coyotes on Tuesday, Nov. 4 at Minkoff Field.

Freshman goalkeeper Valentina Zito continued her impressive season between the posts, registering her sixth clean sheet. Denying six shots on goal in the match, Zito padded her place atop the state leaderboard for saves. Zito was also recently honored by the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference (PCAC) as their women athlete of the week. The goalie has been a bright spot at the back for the team this season.

Goalscorers for the Comets were midfielder #10 Kiatlyn Crone and forward Rachel Stahl with the assists being provided by Renee Old and Analisa Manzo, respectively.

The Comets (7-8-2) next play on Friday, Nov. 7 when they travel west to engage in the ‘Battle of the 78’ vs. Miracosta College.
