[Show as slideshow] Palomar hosted the two-day Waterman’s Festival at the Wallace Memorial Pool on  Feb. 10 and 11. Palomar women won the meet with a score of 602. Cerritos scored 429 points, Mesa scored 346 points and Chaffey scored 208.  Palomar men placed second at the end of the meet with a score of 473. Video: Palomar’s Urban Forestry

The Palomar College Urban Forestry program has on loan from Cal Fire a Wood-Mizer portable saw mill and two drying kilns. The saw mill is set up in a custom built timber frame structure. With this equipment the program is able to produce quality lumber from urban trees. This is wood that is not commonly found at commercial lumber outlets.
