1. Project 1 (100 pts max): Choose a project at this link.

2. Project 2 (50 pts max): Choose a project at this link.

3. Exams (200 pts max):  All students start with 50 points/exam. Exams are subject to the subtraction of points for wrong answers.  Although most questions will focus on the material as outlined in the syllabus, some questions on the breadth of the material should be anticipated.   Final Exam: The fourth exam is the Final Exam.

4. Learning Skills (50 points max):  This is my assessment of how well you have tried to understand the materials prepared for you as demonstrated by the types of questions you have for me.  In my mind there is a big difference in the quality of these two questions.

1) "What are our assignments and how long should they be?"  I dislike questions which are clearly answered in the course materials.  They tell me that the student, learning disabilities aside, has most likely not carefully read the materials I have prepared, has no intention of doing so, and finds it easier to jet me off an email than to look it up.  Everyone misses something once in a while, so don't be afraid to ask anything, just make sure you know what the materials say on the subject.

2) "I have a chance to interview an Indian artist, will that be okay for my artist's biography?"   I thoroughly LOVE this type of question.  It tells me that the student is an active learner who has most likely read the materials, and wants more information about issues on a higher level.
