Class Format:
Each class will begin with discussion and questions on readings for the day and student progress on assignments. The main topic for the day will be introduced through discussion, lecture, slides, and an occasional film.

Week 3: Archaic Native California.
Week 4: Rock Art.
Week 5: Colonizing California.
Week 6: California Plants.
Week 7: Basketry.
Week 8: The arts of the peoples of Northwestern California.
Week 9: The arts of the peoples of Northeastern California.
Week 10: The arts of the peoples of the Great Basin.
Week 11: The arts of the peoples of Northcentral California.
Week 12: The arts of the peoples of Southcentral California.
Week 13: The arts of the peoples of Southern California.
Week 14: The arts of the peoples of the Colorado River.
Week 15: Modern California Artists.
Week 16: More modernists.
