Selection and Layer Composite (50
pts. possible) Read Introduction and the chapters on Selections, Basic Photo Corrections and Layer Basics in the textbook. Finished art will be an 8”x10” or 10”x8” @ 360 ppi (pixel per inch) RGB file. Create a new file and bring in various selections from the digital photographs you shot around campus. Make sure that you use all of the various selection tools (rectangular & elliptical marquees, regular, polygonal, & magnetic lassos, magic wand & quick select) such that once you have completed the project you are proficient with each of the tools. To make the project easier to grade and to make sure that you can accurately describe how you completed the project, name each layer based on the selection tool(s) that were used to make that layer. As you work, practice till you become proficient with these tools & commands: The goal is to become more familiar with Photoshop while having some fun using various selections to create and design a collage of images. Save all turned in work in Photoshop format with layers. Naming scheme should follow this format: BealoM Proj1.psd where BealoM is your last name and 1st initial.
