Class Projects

Learn the mysteries of bending wood in CFT 180. The skills learned in this class will enable you to bring the curved line into your contemporary design work or to reproduce historic pieces which use bent wood. Topics covered include layout, form making, strip lamination, steam bending, panel bending, hot iron bending and vacuum forming. In addition, each student will design and build a bent wood piece to execute the theories and skills taught in the course.
