Pack of
Cigarettes
Renato Teroy
You’re about as addicting
as a pack of cigarettes
Make me crazier than I usually
get
So unique, sadly you’re the
last one left
I’ll have to smoke you slowly
and savor every breath
I inhale deep and hold you
in my lungs
As I withdraw you from my
lips, I still taste you on my tongue
I was beginning to think
that I would need you less
But I still held you in though
you were burning my chest
And ever so slowly you were
killing me inside
The burning was so intense
I was beginning to cry
So I finally exhaled and
let you go
Watching you disperse with
the rest of the smoke
