Welcome! My name is Wendy Medina and I am very excited to be the Master Teacher in Room 7PM. I attended Palomar College and obtained an A.A. degree in Working with Children and Families. I then transferred to CSUSM and I obtained my B.A. in Child and Adolescent Development this past spring. I also hold my California Master Teacher Permit. I have been working for the ECE Lab School at their San Marcos location for four years and now I have been given a great opportunity to work at their Escondido site.

I was born and raised in Oceanside where I currently live. I am the oldest of three siblings and I love to spend time with my family. I also enjoy going to the movies, going out to eat, and spending time with friends. I am also a huge soccer fan, I used to play soccer myself and now I enjoy watching the games and attending them. I also like to be active, which come in handy when working with children, and do so by going to the gym and running by the beach.

A little bit about myself, I was born in Mexico, raised in Chicago and then moved to California in 2001. I currently live in Julian with my family; my husband and two daughters 9 years and 5 years old. Since I was little, I always knew I wanted to be a teacher, so I decided to follow my dreams. I have been working for Palomar for the past 12 years, in which I’ve earn certificates and AA degrees in Child development and Social Behavioral Sciences. I will be completing my Bachelors in Arts in Child Development this December from Point Loma Nazarene University. When I’m not in the classroom teaching, I’m out in a classroom learning.

Things I enjoy outside of work are hiking, enjoying nature, walks at the beach, eating ice cream and taking long naps.

Hello, my name is Nahla Yakzan. I love working with children and seeing them learn and grow in a fun and relaxed environment. I love my job and find it very rewarding to be with the children everyday.

I have a Bachelor degree in Child and Adolescent Development and I have been working with children for eighteen years, eight of which have been at the ECE Lab School. I like art, music, cooking, and gardening and try to bring my experiences in these areas to the classroom and encourage the children to be thoughtful and creative. I live with my family in San Diego and I enjoy the outdoors, especially hiking and walking on the beach.
