For this installment of “How to Canvas” let’s go though the process of uploading a piece of media onto the Palomar Kaltura streaming media system from within your Canvas course.
Keep in mind that content you upload into Kaltura are only going to be available from within your courses on Canvas; this is not a replacement for publicly hosting content as you could on YouTube. Also keep in mind that if the video you upload is one you plan to use for more than just one semester, you really do need to make arrangements to have your video closed captioned, so you can stay within the guidelines for accessibility laid out by the Chancellor’s Office.
And, of course, if what you want is to have a video digitized and made available to your students, you might consider submitting a request and having Palomar staff handle the digitization for you.
