For this installment of “How to Canvas” let’s take a look at a simple technique to render a list of navigation links on a page into a more visually stimulating form. This can be done by changing a bullet list to display as a “pill” instead.
To create a navigation pill, start out by creating a bulleted list using fairly short text entries, and link those entries to the various parts of the course you want students to navigate to. Then you switch over to see the HTML (Don’t Panic!) and add in a tiny bit of text in one place. When you save the page, your list will render as a pill, like so:
