Tom Griesgraber – Inventor of the Chapman Stick – Free Concert Hour

March 5 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Tom Griesgraber is one of the world’s most respected players of the Chapman Stick; an unusual instrument with six guitar strings and six bass strings that is played more like a piano.
Tom’s performances frequently stop uninitiated listeners in their tracks as the layers of guitar, bass and keyboard-like sounds coming from this one instrumentalist often seem too big to be real.

Tom tours frequently as a headliner and an opener for acts like The California Guitar Trio, Tony Levin (Peter Gabriel), Steve Morse, Andy Summers (The Police), Steve Hackett (Genesis), Tim Reynolds (Dave Matthews Band), Al Dimeola, Stanley Jordan, Paul Stanley and Paula Cole. He has performed four times for Grammy events and his albums have been selected among the yearly top recordings on the national radio show “Echoes,” and as editor’s picks in Guitar Player and Acoustic Guitar magazines
