How do Cooperative Education Classes Work?

The course syllabi and course forms are available here.

Cooperative Education classes consist of the following components:

  • Orientation: you will learn about course requirements and set 3 learning objectives that you will work on during the semester. Your supervisor and Cooperative Education instructor will provide feedback and approve your learning objectives.
  • Monthly reports: you will submit brief monthly reports describing progress on objectives and documenting hours worked. These must be signed by the supervisor.
  • Job site visit: The instructor conducts a job site visit with your supervisor at the student work site. Student attendance is optional but encouraged.
  • Final interview: Each student attends a final interview with the Coop Ed Instructor. The supervisor does not attend.

The number of credits you will earn depends on the number of hours you complete during the semester.
