Fun Facts for the Fall Semester

The fall semester starts on Monday, August 24.  Sadly, it won’t be like last fall when we all gathered at the main campus or at the Escondido, Fallbrook or Rancho Bernardo Education Centers.  Instead, the majority of courses are offered online.  With a few exceptions for the delivery of face-to-face courses designed to educate and train health and emergency personnel , the main campus and the Education Centers are CLOSED .

We have some incredible staff and faculty supporting you and your success this semester (and always for that matter).  Our remote services are endless – everything from academic counseling, financial aid, and tutoring, to online library services, and virtual computer labs.  The virtual computer labs are new and full of opportunities to get your assignments completed and to use software programs that are specific to your program and courses.  You will also find access to software downloads, help logging into Canvas and your Palomar email, and changing your password.   All of these resources can be accessed at the Information Technology for Students webpage.

We also have the new Palomar Pathways Mapper,  an interactive tool to help guide you to a field of study that will help you achieve your college goals in a reasonable time frame.  It is designed to help you choose your path to an Associate degree, certificate, transfer to a 4-year institution, or gain the skills you need to start your career.  Check it out!

It is possible during this unpredictable time that your class may have been cancelled.  Not to worry, check out My Class Finder to find open classes!  It is also possible that you may need additional resources to get you through the semester.  We have a great set of resources in the Quick Guide to Student Resources.  There are a ton of services for you and your family.

We have tried to think of everything!  Bottom line – we want you to be successful this fall and far into your future.  Go Comets!

Stay safe!  Stay well!
