Palomar College Competes in its First Cybersecurity Competition

Palomar College Competes in its First Cybersecurity Competition

I would like to take the time to announce that Palomar College competed in its first cybersecurity competition this year. We had 4 brave students compete in the National Cybersecurity League (NCL) cyber competition during the month of April. The NCL is a virtual training ground and competition series that provides students an environment to learn and challenge themselves by solving complex questions using industry-recognized competencies such as cryptography, log analysis, network packet analysis, password cracking, and python code comprehension.

I had the pleasure of working with these students and watching how quickly they embraced the NCL environment and put their best foot forward. With that being said, I would like to recognize the following students for their wiliness to participate, their drive to succeed, and their spirit of life-long learning. They did very well in the competition and chose to further compete in the post-season event as a team, which I believe is a testament to them and the NCL program as a whole.

I would like to congratulate the following students on a job well done!

  •     Emily Anderson
  •     Jennifer Bate
  •     Kelie Oreb
  •     Sean Smith
