Virtual enrollment assistance for new and continuing students

Congratulations on your admission to Palomar College! We are excited to welcome you to the Comet family. As a new student, we want you learn about all the resources available to help you succeed. Our Discover Palomar virtual activities will help you prepare to register for classes.

What you need to know:

  • Your Palomar College student email is the only method of official communication from Palomar. Access your student email through your MyPalomar student portal account by selecting the Welcome tab.
  • You will need to login to your MyPalomar portal to complete your To-Do’s, check placement status, confirm your academic major and register for classes.
  • Spring 2021 registration begins in early November.
  • If you will be under 18 on the first day of the Spring Semester (February 1, 2021) please complete the K-12 form prior to registration.
  • Download the Palomar App to get looped in to activities and events (Android/Apple).

Step 1: Get Connected

Use your ID to login to the MyPalomar student portal, set up your student email, and download the Palomar College Mobile app (Android/Apple). Click here for a video.

Step 2: Complete New Student Orientation

Orientation is mandatory for new students. Login to the MyPalomar student portal and look for the Orientation link in your To-Do list. Click here for instructions.

Step 3: Review Your Placement

English and Math placement is determined using information provided on your application. Login to MyPalomar to review your placement. If you need help understanding your placement information or you have AP test scores to submit, please email:

Step 4: Complete A Career Assessment

Take the Career Coach Assessment here. This free tool will help you confirm your academic major and career interests. Simply answer 6 questions and write the results down to share with an Academic Counselor at a later time. Click here for a video.

Step 5: Palomar Pathways Questionnaire

Complete your Palomar Pathways Questionnaire here. Your responses will help us connect you to campus resources. Click here for a video.

Step 6: Develop your Education Plan

Meet with an Academic Counselor to develop an education plan and select the appropriate classes for your educational goal. Sign up for a group education planning session at or contact the Counseling Department at (760) 891-7511 to schedule a one-on-one appointment with a counselor.

Step 7: Register for Classes

Confirm your registration appointment and register for classes at MyPalomar.

Step 8: Apply for Financial Aid & Pay Enrollment Fees

Complete the FAFSA or the California Dream Act application. Our school code is 001260. Enrollment fees can be paid online at MyPalomar. For additional help, please visit

*You must pay for classes within 10 calendar days of registration to avoid being dropped.

What you can expect if you complete all the steps

  • Help reviewing course placement (English/Math)
  • A customized Education Plan created by a Palomar College counselor
  • Follow-up from requested program services
  • Priority registration between June 5th-9th
