Hello, my name is Erin Burhans, and I am excited to be part of the ESL team here at Palomar College! In addition to working at Palomar, I am a credentialed teacher who works with K-12 homeschool students, and I also volunteer at the Carlsbad Learning Center as an adult literacy tutor. Education has been a life-long passion of mine. I strive to share my love of learning with others and help students reach their goals. I look forward to working with you!
My name is Rhea. I am originally from Guyana, but I’ve been living in here in California for the last three years. This is my first time tutoring at Palomar, but I’m very excited to work with Palomar students. I’ve been attending Palomar for one year now, and if I’m not in school I’m usually spending time with my family.
Hi! My name is Karen!
Hello, my name is Ilaria! I am very happy to be part of the ESL Tutoring Center, and I can't wait to meet you all! As an English language-learner, I am excited to share all my tips and tricks to learn English. Also, I worked closely with international students for about 3 years at UC Riverside, and through that I found my dream-job: to teach English.
My name is Sonya. Tutoring ESL at Palomar College is a new adventure for me. I was a writer and lecturer in Manila before I came to the United States for graduate school many years ago. I've taught high school and college English, and also my native Tagalog to adult learners. I look forward to meeting you all!

Hi, I'm Nancy, and I am looking forward to being part of the ESL team at Palomar. I have worked as a college counselor and as an instructor of English composition and grammar as well as taught effective speaking courses in Los Angeles for several years. I have also spent time in Costa Rica, so I speak a bit of Spanish. My first priority is helping students become more proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English, with learning in general as the main objective. We are here to aid you in reaching your goals.
