IRS Tax Transcript Alert
The IRS temporarily shut down the “Get Transcript Online” process in response to a cyber attack that reportedly gain access to 100,000 past tax returns and used the information to claim approximately $50 million in fraudulent refunds. Additional details on this may be accessed on the IRS website.
We are awaiting further guidance from the U.S. Department of Education. The IRS DRT function does not appear to be affected at this time. Students and parents are still able to link their tax information to their FAFSA using the IRS DRT function.
In the meantime if a student or parent needs to request a tax transcript, they may still request the IRS Tax Transcript by mail using the IRS Get Transcript website and choosing “Get Transcript by Mail”. The Transcripts will then be mailed to the address the IRS has on file for them within 5 to 10 business days.
All applications for financial assistance programs; grants, work compensations, student loans, special funds, etc… will be considered by Palomar Community College District without regard to race, color, national origin, gender or disability

Please Note: Documents may be submitted in person, mailed by US mail, or emailed from the student’s Palomar Email account to firstname.lastname@example.org , with the exception of Student Loan Applications (we need the original signatures, so scanned/emailed versions will not be accepted). Please include your full name and Palomar ID number when emailing. Documents must be complete in order for us to accept them. We will NOT accept documents by fax.
