Palomar College Learning For Success

Signage

Interior and exterior signage for the Palomar College campuses evolved over time without guidance or control, often resulting in visual clutter; poorly located signs and mismatched letter sizes, colors, shapes, and mounting techniques.

In July 2002, a “Graphic Standards and Style Manual” was created by the Graphics Standards & Style Manual Task Force.  This group comprised of 11 staff members representing a cross-section of the college community.

The purpose of the Graphic Standards and Style Manual is to assist people who develop printed materials, web pages, correspondence, or other products that determines and reinforces the identify of Palomar College.  The contents of this manual outlines a unified image of Palomar’s diversity and vitality through a visual identity system and writing style guidelines.

Building signage is coordinated by the Facilities Office to ensure all building graphics are consistent, compliant, and provide a positive image and effective communication to the college community and its campus visitors.
