Counseling Services Division


FYRST may provide the following services:

  • Priority registration
  • Book voucher
  • Emergency gas card
  • Student ID card
  • Bus passes
  • Special events/workshops
  • Educational planning
  • Counseling: Academic, career, transfer, financial aid, and personal

In addition our FYRST staff will provide assistance with:

  • Scholarships such as the Chafee Grant, John Burton Book Fund, San Diego Foundation, ILS, and Promises 2 Kids
  • Just in Time Application
  • Referrals to community housing and on/off campus resources
  • Student Advocacy

*To initiate services, new FYRST students must first attend a FYRST Orientation and see the Foster Youth Counselor
