EOPS Counseling Services Division


FYRST may provide the following services:

  • Priority registration
  • Book voucher
  • Backpacks/school supplies
  • Transportation support
  • Student Activity card
  • Special events/workshops
  • Tutoring referrals
  • Academic, career, transfer, financial aid, and personal counseling
  • Independent living and financial literacy skills/support workshops
  • College tours

In addition our FYRST staff will provide assistance with:

  • Scholarships opportunities such as the Chafee Grant, John Burton Book Fund, San Diego Foundation, ILS, andĀ Promises 2 Kids
  • Support with Just in Time Application
  • Referrals to community housing and on/off-campus resources
  • Advocacy on behalf of our students

*To initiate services, new FYRST students must first attend a FYRST Orientation and see the Foster Youth Counselor
