Access to vital resources is critical for our students to remain in school during this unprecedented time related to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. The Palomar College Foundation has mobilized to help through an Emergency Funding Campaign.
With the generosity of Darlene Shiley leading the way, a challenge has been established in support Palomar students today!
Please consider a donation to the Darlene Shiley Challenge – Emergency Fund Campaign.
Your gift will have immediate impact in meeting the increased and growing needs of our students.
FWS: Palomar College has received guidance that we may continue to pay Federal Work-Study students under certain circumstance for students who are unable to perform their duties based on COVID-19 safety actions taken by the college. Federal Work-Study students who are advised to not report to work will be considered on-call to return to work should the need arise. Students who choose to not work or do not report when requested will not be eligible for this exemption. Further information and guidance will be given to both our Federal Work-Study students and their supervisors as it becomes available.
Veterans: The most recent guidance from the Veterans Administration (3/13/2020) is that there is legislation being acted on that may alleviate the possible loss of GI Bill benefits when a program is converted to an online format. The VA is asking all schools to temporarily refrain from making any adjustments to enrollment certifications. The VA will provide further guidance by Wednesday, March 18th.
Our office is working hard to review and respond to all requests received prior to Thursday, March 19 at 5:00 pm. The Foundation will be closed during Spring Break and will review and respond to emergency grant requests on March 30.
After March 30, you can expect a response to your request within five business days. Thank you!
