Our FYE Peer Mentors serve to support first year students as they embark on their journey through higher education. FYE Peer Mentors assist new, first year students by serving as a resource to the Palomar College campus, meeting with students, both in groups and individually, to address questions and/or concerns that may arise as students navigate their first year of college.
A FYE Peer Mentor is:
- A confidant, guide, academic resource, role model, and friend.
- Knowledgeable about campus resources, policies, and culture.
- Willing to share information, experiences, and accomplishments in a non-competitive way.
- Open, understanding, and approachable.
To meet with a FYE Peer Mentor, contact the TLC San Marcos at 760-744-1150, ext. 3931 to schedule your appointment. Meeting with a FYE Peer Mentor will count towards your Skillshop requirement. All sessions will be held at the TLC San Marcos.
