Want your students to have better research skills? Register for a library instruction session. Just visit
This week Fashion 132 and Counseling 110 are scheduled for a library instruction session.

Don’t find your textbook in the Library? Ask your professor to give us a copy to put on reserve for you and your classmates. That’s a win-win!

Welcome to the Fall 2010 Semester!

Textbooks are available thanks to a donation from the President’s Associates. This year we have a new donor, the Leichtag Foundation. Their support for the students is wonderful. We are very grateful for their thoughtful gift.

The Library will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Friday hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Saturday hours are 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Drop in for a visit soon. We look forward to seeing you!

Giving Back to the Community

There are many ways to give back to the community at this time of year.

Toy Drive
The Palomar College Police Department is holding its 8th annual Toy Drive from Nov. 1 – Dec. 17. All donations will be given to a child of an Extended Opportunity Program (EOPS) student. Please leave a new unwrapped toy in the donation box located at the Circulation Desk on the second floor of the Library.

Labels for EducationSM
For more than 30 years, Labels for Education has been awarding free educational equipment to schools in exchange for proofs of purchase from the Campbell family of brands. It’s a fun, easy program where students, families and members of the community work together for a common goal. To find the list of eligible products, visit:

The collection box is at the Circulation Desk on the second floor of the Library.

For more information on any of these programs, call 760-744-1150, Ext. 2614 or 2612.

A Note About Textbooks

The President’s Associates have granted funding to provide a limited amount of book loans to students who are financially unable to purchase a required textbook for their class. Applications are available only at ST-17(near the Student Services Building). Students will need to fill out the application completely and have either their professor OR counselor sign it and turn it back in to the office. At this time, due to overwhelming demand, only one textbook per student will be loaned out this semester.

Additionally, the Associates have provided funding to the Library to purchase many of the core textbooks for students to use at the Library to complete their homework. The books must be used at the Library and cannot be taken home. Currently there are about 200 textbooks available at the library.

Students who take classes at the Escondido Center can check with library there. They have purchased textbooks with funding from the President’s Associates again this year.

Textbooks are listed in the online catalog. Click here to view the catalog. If you do not see yours, please drop by or call us (760-744-1150, ext. 2612) to find out if your textbook is available.
