Escondido Center – Ernest J. Allen Library

Ernest J AllenThe Escondido Center campus library is named in honor of Valley Center dairy farmer Ernest J. Allen. Thanks to a bequest from Mr. Allen, the Palomar College Library built its first ‘branch’, the Ernest J. Allen Library (EJA), which opened September 22, 1997. To further honor our benefactor the library maintains a collection of dairy memorabilia, including a few items from the Allen dairy. The Palomar College Foundation currently administers investments made with the remainder of Mr. Allen’s financial gift. Interest accrued on the funds remains available to further enhance library services to students at the Escondido Center.
