Astronomy News Articles

Each student may submit any astronomically related news articles for extra credit.

Good magazine/newspaper sources are (others are acceptable too):

  1. Astronomy Magazine
  2. Sky and Telescope Magazine
  3. Scientific American
  4. Popular Science
  5. The “Quest” section of the San Diego Union Tribune
  6. The “Sci-Tech” section of the North County Times or Daily Californian (for those of you living in Temecula)

Many of these magazines have online versions where you can download the article.  Other internet sources may be used for news articles HOWEVER you must include a copy of the article and the article must come from a REPUTABLE source of astronomical news.

  3. Astronomy.com
  4. www.skyandtelescope.com
  5. Today at NASA
  6. Spaceviews.com
  7. Space.com

How to earn your extra credit:

To earn extra credit, you must include a copy of the article with a one paragraph summary of the article written in your own words (no exceptions).   Please type your summary if possible.  Each article is worth 0.2% with a total of 15 articles that may be submitted by each student, each semester.  NOTE:  No more than 4 articles per week may be submitted.

VALUE: 0.2% extra credit per article
