Peter Dayeh – Concert Hour

San Diego clarinetist Peter Dayeh enjoys a varied career as teacher, coach, clinician and performer. He maintains a large private studio of beginning through advanced students, many of whom have held top seats in prestigious All-State, All-Southern, and local honor bands, as well as in local youth orchestras. Peter is a member of the San Diego branch of the Music Teachers Association of California, as well as adjunct professor of clarinet at Palomar College. As a performer, he is a frequent recitalist across San Diego and Riverside counties and can often be seen playing clarinet and Eb clarinet with the San Diego Symphony, California Chamber Orchestra, and the Santa Cruz Symphony. He has participated in several summer music festivals, most notably the rigorous Pierre Monteux School for Orchestra Musicians in Hancock, Maine, and the vibrant Hot Springs Music Festival in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
Pianist, composer and educator Nicolas Reveles just retired from the position of Director of Education and Community Engagement at San Diego Opera. In his work at the opera, he has been a collaborative pianist for some of the finest singers in the world including Carol Neblett, Ferruccio Furlanetto, Ailyn Perez, Giuseppe Filianoti, Marianne Cornetti and Stephen Costello. Reveles holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of San Diego, a Master of Music in Choral Conducting from the University of Redlands and a Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance from the Manhattan School of Music where he studied with the great American pianist Gary Graffman. Past positions have included Associate Professor of Music at the University of San Diego (1977-1990) and pianist/music director for Mikhail Baryshnikov’s White Oak Dance Project (1993-1998). Reveles has composed five operas; the children’s operas The Sleeping Beauty (2005) and Rumpelstiltskin (2008), commissioned by San Diego Opera for the San Diego Opera Ensemble, Sextet, a queer opera (2010), a commission funded by the Irvine Foundation for Diversionary Theatre in San Diego, a one-act opera with librettist Michael Vegas Mussman, Take Care of Him, and the libretto and music for a monodrama for mezzo-soprano and chamber ensemble, Ghosts.
