The Palomar Symphony Orchestra emerges from its Heart2Heart online season
with a LIVE concert of music that speaks to our shared humanity. Bizet’s opera,
Carmen, explores the darker side of ecstatic love and hate, while Copland’s suite
from “Our Town” celebrates the simple joys of family and community.
She plays the violin, she plays the piano, and she sings! When Joanna Dronov shows up you are going to hear an eclectic one-woman show filled with charming classical repertoire and jaunty popular music! Joanna’s Slavic roots are evident in many of the songs she chooses, and audiences delight to her fun-filled explanations of the music she performs. In 2015, Joanna made her first debut as a soloist when she performed the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto with the American River College Orchestra. She received a Bachelors in Violin Performance from Sacramento State University in May 2017 followed by a Masters in Music at San Diego State University in December 2019.

A remix of Shakespeare’s The Tempest in reflection with the last line of the poem
on the statue of liberty, “Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my
lamp beside the golden door!” While honoring the language and magic of the
original play, this remix will lift up the themes of colonization and euro-supremacy
immanent in the text.
