Fall 2019 Enrollment – Four-week Classes
As part of a Working Adults Initiative, four-week classes have been offered during a full- term for the first time ever this Fall 2019 and enrollments have been very strong. During the 16-week semester, classes are being offered in 4-week sessions that do not overlap so that students can take one intensive class at a time and still finish four classes in the semester. One example is a four-class sequence in Child Development that leads to a teaching assistant permit with the state of California. Popular general education (GE) classes were also offered in Health, Political Science, American Indian Studies, and Sociology. Initial feedback from students and instructors has been positive and through Palomar Pathways, there are plans to develop a “One-Class-at-a-Time” CSU/IGETC GE pattern targeting working adults. Thank you Dean Pearl Ly for sharing this exciting news.
