On Friday 29 August 2014, 19 mentors went through our very first Village Mentoring training program. We had faculty, staff, students, and administrators working together to discuss the ‘nuts and bolts’ of the tutoring process (and have a little bit of fun, too).
Now, we’re on to the ‘matching mentors with mentees’ stage of the program. Emails will be going out THIS WEEK (by Friday)! For mentors who missed the training, I’ll be linking you to the online training manual soon.
As well, Karen Boguta, dispatch records coordinator for Palomar’s Police Department, will be contacting mentors explaining to them when the Clery Act training times will be held. To be a mentor in the Village Mentoring Program, mentors must receive Clery Act training.
Thank you for all of your hard work! We’re looking forward to a great, inaugural semester for the Village Mentoring Program.
