Interview and Interrogation

Course is designed for Patrol and Corrections officers who conduct crime investigations. The successful student will be able to conduct preliminary free-form interviews and interrogations; develop themes; and establish elimination questions to identify potential suspects. Students will use a ten-step process to gain confessions.

Course is offered to the following:

  • San Diego County Sheriff’s Department
  • San Diego Police Departments
  • San Diego County Probation Department
  • California State Parole/Corrections

PREREQUISITES: Must be currently employed by a law enforcement or public safety agency.

EQUIPMENT: Students must bring a computer with ability to: use a flash drive, view PowerPoint documents and PDF files.

DRESS CODE: Students must wear department issued uniform or casual business attire. No shorts, jeans, flip flops or t-shirts will be permitted. Dress code is strictly enforced.
