I am an Associate Professor of Geography and the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Program Coordinator at Palomar College.  I have also been involved in various national and regional initiatives to align GIS and STEM education with workforce needs, such as the National Geospatial Technology Center of Excellence. My academic research focuses on the potential of public participation GIS, and its application in the mitigation of flood risk.

When I am not teaching or doing research, I enjoy fiddling with tech gadgets, surfing, traveling, or learning about beers.
