Woodlands Architecture

This settlement is positioned near the water as indicated by the reflection at the near end of the longhouses.  One or more nuclear families  lived comfortably in a longhouse.

Longhouses, shaped like a half-cylinder, employed a framework of bent hardwood poles covered by sheets of smooth, grey elm bark which repelled rain snow and wind.  A fire kept the interior warm and mosquito free.
