    When are assignments due?

See the syllabus. The assignment is due on the date next to the assignment, during our class presentations. The due date is also stated within the tutorial itself.
(Online classes have "presentations", which are the posts in the Canvas Discussion Boards. Please post your assignment as a PDF to ensure that the formatting is transmitted. Please post by 11:59PM on the due date so that everyone has a chance to offer and receive feedback.)

    What are our reading assignments?

Links to readings on the Internet are listed in the Resource section of each tutorial. Also, you might find useful readings in the corresponding topics of the suggested texts. The assignments are listed in the syllabus.

Canvas is the repository for all your class information: announcements, syllabus, instructor information (office hours, phone, e-mail, etc.), course files, assignments, grades, student lists. It is password protected and not open to the public. It is a "Course Management System" licensed by Palomar College.

In the Discussion Board section, please see the TROUBLESHOOTING FORUM, where you post your questions, and answers, about the class and course content.

Canvas is open 24/7. It is password protected and not open to the public.

If you miss a class, you can always go to Canvas to see the outline of what we did that day. (Connect with your class colleagues so you can contact them to get updates if you miss a class.)

What if I don't have a computer or my computer crashes during the semester? and

    When is open lab?

If you are enrolled in classes you may use the campus labs. Check the door to the labs for the latest schedules. There are open labs in the MD building. The art department lab and the library lower level lab have graphics software installed, also.

Note that due to Covid-19 restrictions, the campus is occasionally closed and there may be no open labs in classrooms or the Learning Center/Library. If you need to use a lab computer, arrangements may be made to give you virtual access to a lab.

For the latest information about going on to the campus, please go to the Palomar.edu site. The Covid page has the latest announcements.

I think I may have too many obligations and won't be able to finish the course. What should I do?

Since "Incompletes" are discouraged except in the most dire emergencies, you might consider changing your status to P/NP so you can relax and learn the materials, without the stress of a letter grade. Try this rather than dropping the course. Be sure to pay attention the exact last day that you are allowed to change your status or drop the course, since special paperwork is required for both of these. [TOP]

What version of the software will we be using?

Adobe Illustrator Creative Cloud (this is the version installed in the campus labs)
