 COURSE OBJECTIVES

1. Explore movement, music, and songs from Cuba and Brazil.
2. Learn specific dances, traditional/popular.
3. Experience working as part of a drum and dance ensemble.
4. Performance opportunities on/off campus.
5. Participate in the Spring Faculty Dance Concert. Audition based.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS AND GRADING 

80% Participation
20% Movement exams (performances)
Must attend class.

AFTER THREE (3) ABSENCES 5 POINTS OFF FOR EACH ABSENCE.

A = 90-100 pt
B = 80-90 pt
C = 70-80 pt
D = 60-70 pt

 Must wear loose clothing.
No gum/ no smoking.
Take notes when necessary.

Responsible for missed work at all times.

 Some students will have this requirement waived if performance anxiety is an issue or if student is not at skill level necessary for this concert.

 Attendance is vital and a major part of your grade.

 THIS CLASS MAY BE TAKEN AS A CR/NC INSTEAD OF A LETTER GRADE. I would recommend this if your attendance is an issue.
