This is week 12 of the spring semester. You should submit your weekly update by the end of the day today.
Submit the following writing today:
1. Your revised essay 3 is due today. Upload it directly to the Pluto server at Palomar by ftp. See the FTP Instructions for how to do this. Review the format and requirements for revised essays.
2. Your essay self-evaluation. This is due by the end of the day today. Remember that your essay is not complete until you have submitted your essay self-evaluation.
3. Submit your essay to Safe Assign today. I recommend that you submit your essay to Safe Assign before you submit the final version because sometimes your originality report reveals typos, errors in your use of quotation marks, or errors indenting that you can correct easily. Correct those errors and upload the corrected essay.
Complete the following reading this week:
1. Two essays for peer review.
2. Claudia Wallis, "The Multitasking Generation," Time, March 27, 2006, pp. 48-55. You can get a copy of this article through Ebscohost Academic Search Premier, one of the library's on-line databases. Just type in the title, in quotation marks, and you will get the full text of the article.
3. Robert Kubey and Mihalyi Csikszentmihalyi , "Television Addiction Is No Mere Metaphor," Scientific American Special Edition, Vol. 14, Issue 1, pp. 48-55. This article too you can download from Ebscohost. Type the title into the search box. Print out both articles.
Complete the following writing this week:
1. Your peer reviews for essay 3. For the revised essay, you will review two essays from students not in your editorial group. To see whose essay you should review, check the Peer Review List for Essay 3. You should complete your peer reviews by Thursday.
2. Respond to discussion questions posted in the Blackboard Discussion Board on Wallis and Kubey and Csikszentmihalyi. Questions will be posted by Thursday. Please respond no later than Saturday.
